As I write this, the very last post in any forum is three and a half days ago. Has exhaustion of intellect and imagination overtaken us all?
Webmaster, Brandy, Dutchmyn, Rupert, where are you?

Webmaster: "Approve? Approve?!" What kind of Big Brother nonsense is this? I suppose this is a ploy on your part to demand a pay raise?! Well, you'll find Rupert, Brandy, Pinkerton and I very hard to deal with! 5% over 20 years and that's our final offer! We will, however, give you a secretary as long as you post a live 24-hour webcam shot of her at the computer clad only in a chastity belt and bra. So the secretary is in, the pay raise is on the table, but the company car is definitely out!! Now, I hope you're happy!
Please write your response on the back of a $20 and mail to each of us!! [If you still think I'm serious, please be advised that I'm pulling your leg!!]

I believe it's called beach blanket bingo or barbeque on the boardwalk. Hip belts notwithstanding, chastity belts under a bathing suit at the beach is not cool to some people. So why should they frequent a discussion site when it's summer time? So is this a seasonal subject? Are we in the off-season, like some natty ski bum bemoaning his layoff status in the middle of July? It would seem so.

Followup clue: note the time on my entry: 4:28am. It happens to be 7:28 am by my PC clock and the clock beside me on the breakfast table. So I believe that means this site is based on the west coast somewhere. "Archie, take a flight and investigate." "But Nero, I just got back from..." "Rubbish, do as you're told! I'm off to the plant room!"

Dutchmyn, while you know that basically I do not care a rap about the male device, a propos your remark about a Belt under a swimsuit, I'd like to float the idea of a female swimsuit purpose-built to conceal a Florentine-style Belt worn underneath its bottom. What occurs to me is a radically high-waist bikini bottom with equally radically high-cut leg-openings, giving moderate coverage of the fundament. Any ideas, Colleagues -- either further along the line I have delineated, or else along a different direction toward the same goal?

More like the people "approving the messages" are otherwise occupied; witness the remark above on May 25th to which I repeat my post of May 26. Did you notice your update of 7/16 didn't even make it to the outside board?

There was only one post waiting for approval. Granted it was from the 12th... But for the most part it's just been quiet. Every once in a while I'll either be busy or I'll just miss the fact that a message was queued and not posted.

I'm not sure what you mean by didn't make it to the outside board about the 16th update.

If we are going to carry on with the starship analogy, it looks as if the ship is in port and all personnel are on planetside leave, as the last recorded post was a hundred hours ago, +/-.

It occurs to me to speculate that probably there shan't be sex in space for a while. Shuttle cabins are privacy-free environments. Topside, one needs an environmental suit simply in order to survive; and an environmental suit, in an environment deadly without its protection, beats a purpose-built lock-&-Key chastity device at its own trade

Which makes me wonder what kind of clientele we're drawing, let alone their population size and frequency of logging on. Perhaps, as you say, we've exhausted the possibilities of this subject. I certainly hope not. Besides I'm waiting for someone to log on and tell of their experiences with a Franey cage. (Ouch!)

It hasn't had a post since 11/4. I think that with Christmas coming up everyone is too busy to post to these sites. See you planet side at the Christmas party.

Shipmate, if you have attained to Eastern philosophical stillness, then Blessed Be.

We may be in port and the crew dispersed to the four winds planetside, but that is far better than the junior-high-schoolish tomfoolery so very lately occurring in Altairboy's guestbook.

The colleague who started this thread (was it you, Dutchmyn) used the starship metaphor, and we have most of us joined in. But if instead a sailing ship metaphor had been initially employed, right now we would be "Becalmed in the Sargasso," although less Coleridge's Ancient Mariners than Philip Jose Farmer's (from Riders of the Purple Wage) Ancient Marinators.

The legend I heard about the connotations of any Friday the 13th, is that it was on Friday 13 October 1308 that King Philip of France launched the pogrom against the Knights Templar. I would speculate that other equally plausible legends exist. Cross fingers, touch wood, and pet any friendly black cats you encounter -- or, simply disregard the whole schmear.

As to the starship metaphor, might the vast archival resource be the "holodeck?"

13 Oct 1308 is a Sunday. One year previously, Philip the Fair exercised his just and legitimate authority to rid his kingdom of a potentially destabilizing hostile military force which had long outlived its usefulness. This was consequently ratified by the apostletic decree of Pope Clement V.
(13 Oct 1307, was a friday, though)

Which calendar are you using? Many calendars were in use during the middle ages. It makes little sense to use our calendar to extrapolate backwards any earlier than 1582.

Anyway, if you want a becalmed chastity BBS, the one for Viriguard is seldom visited. (Considering the furor it causes on some other BBSs, that's surprising.)

Cynic, I stand corrected and I thank you. I do not claim any greater degree of knowledge of the Templars than coalescence of ill-remembered references to them in reading -- some purporting to be fact, some fiction (especially Eco's Foucault's Pendulum) -- on other topics; really I had not cared a rap one way or the other -- although I can imagine it might be considerably more important to a Freemason, among others. Still, the connection of the Templars to Friday the Thirteenth stuck in my mind.

Robert, although the Templars were arrested on Friday the thirteenth (pogram is best used to describe attempted genocide-- especially in the Russian provinces) the year was 1307.

Masterwoof, the Julian calendar was pretty standard in medieval europe.

Synchronicity?
Here we've got into a heated wardroom bull session about the Templars. So, yesterday I went to the Public Library in search of total brain candy, and what strikes my eye from the Science Fiction/New Books shelf? The Apocalypse Door, by James D. Macdonald (Tor: 2002)! The protagonist is a Knight Templar(!!) operating clandestinely in twenty-first century New York(!!!).

The last post being 6 Oct/2319, once again it is necessary to inquire whether Captain, crew, and pets (Dutchmyn's crickets and gremlins) are planetside -- or AWOL -- or in suspended animation. Or is the ship becalmed in the Sargasso of Cyberspace?

As long as the shore leave isn't on that one planet. The one where you just think about something and they make it, y'know like a plane dive bombing you, a Knight on a horse sticking you, all that. They even killed Bones, but they unkilled him. Throw in a nuisance from the academy so you can kick his ass and you got an episode !

Yes, we should not frequent that planet, imagine all the people who would never ever have sex again.

And we need to stay away from any planets that have anything like Vol on them. Replacements are forbidden, yeah right. Took about all we had to beat the last one of those MFs, and I got a question, who the hell builds something like that ?

One last word to the wise from a real ex-Trekkie, I just don't think it would be a good idea to have a Klingon build you a chastity belt. Always test with Tribbles to make sure your CB maker has no Klingon blood. Not that I am a bigot, but let's face it, if I want pizza or spaghetti ,,,,,,, never mind.

But then if you want to talk high tech, what about that anti-carjacking device in one of the Robocop movies ? I wonder just what attachment method was used. Kirk, Spock and Bones never went there as far as I know.

Whatever. I have no more ideas, well actually I do but they are nowhere near demented enough for this thread. Think I'll go try to start some trouble somewhere.

Susan, the cats are very much OK. As you know, the price for the privilege of owning a cat, is to be owned in return by that cat. Now that I am retired, my two have much more use (Cat jumps on desk with earnest expression, projecting a request: "Pet me, Master!") of their property.

What was not OK for the longest time, was my computer. A former friend got driven 'round the bend by the drastic increase in "psychic 'air-pressure'" caused by my country's last election: I think he was responsible for the malware that disabled my e-mail client. I would not now be posting if I thought my computer was contagious [sp?]; friends I trust for their savvy in these matters, assure me it is clean.

Mr Samuels, it sounds as if we might be in similar situations. My next birthday, next month, is my sixty-fifth.

Methinks I have been "side-moted" to deck-watch on this planetside starship. As that is so, I have lately acquired a new(?) -- at least a nu -- computer (A "franken-puter" that speaks a different language, no less. He who constructed it assures me that the version of Linux this machine uses, is better resistant to malware.) to scan our corner of cyberspace. Even though it seems no voyage is imminent, every once in a while -- as a good deckwatch should do -- I sound a crew call.

Hi Robert, Alphax and Jillian (if you still follow this)

Have a happy Thanksgiving. Activity on many forums seems to have decreased over the last two years. Could this be an unexpected consequence of the economic crash in September 2008? Possibly.

See you all when the economy recovers.

Hello all! I stop in frequently but the cupboard has been bare. I suspect it is more than just the economy that is affecting the participation on the board here. Normal attrition, other specialized chastity sites that cater to variations of chastity, and an absentee landlord for the site (no new member approvals) have all affected participation. Yet the previous and archived postings here are a wealth of information. I go back to them on occasion because questions on other sites have frequently been broached here first. I value the friends I have made here, so it is good to hear from everyone, even if it is only to lament the sounds of silence. Peace...

When the ship is becalmed in port (Yes, I know, in actual nautical terms, that would be a solecism.), every now and again someone must issue a crew call. That seems to have fallen to me.

Is anyone else, crew or passenger (that is to say, lurker.) alive out there?

Along with this month's Crew Call, I have two requests:

Does anyone here have a jpeg of the Allen & Hanbury chastity belt, pictured in Alex Comfort's The Anxiety Makers, plate 7b? This was also on the Altairboy site; notwithstanding that it was only pictured in abstracto, this picture was taken down with the wholesale purge of graphics following passage of an ill-considered Federal law.

My second request is for a jpeg of that female chastity belt which is Maison Mathieu catalog item #40133, also pictured in Comfort, op.cit., this time plate #6a. To my knowledge, this item has not appeared on the web.

Colleagues, would you please send copies of the above jpegs to me? Thank you.

Robert, good to see you are still well and active, although this web site is not. Unfortunately, I cannot help with the pics you are looking for.

FYI, and you may already know, there are a few Chastity groups on FetLife. However, it appears to me that they are heavily male oriented and also have a lot of fluff without much substance. I also see that Susan has some postings on a Yahoo chastity group.

Robert and Eugene, good to hear from the both of you!

Robert, your search is just the sort of thing that brick-and-mortar libraries are good for. There's actually a website that searches multiple libraries' holdings: http://www.worldcat.org/title/anxiety-makers-some-curious-preoccupations-of-the-medical-profession/oclc/957609&referer=brief_results

If a local library doesn't have it, they can probably get it on loan.

If Bill Jones were still alive, today would be his birthday.

Dear Robert

It is sad to think that Both Hal and Bill are gone, but much of their development work has a living form In Tollyboy and the other stainless Steel belt makers alive and working today.

A few years ago it seemed quite possible that the direct link to the origins of modern bespoke stainless CB making would be lost. Well - that moment passed; we still have Tollyboy - and at least four others continue to make belts that embody much of that early work in some form. There has also been innovation and the development of the ideas which Hal and Bill made a reality. It remains a very small scale, high skill engineering sector, but it has survived!

Thanks to you Robert, I know Richard Davies (of Tollyboy) well, development there continues. Over the last five years I have seen new ideas and developments of the old ones taking shape with him; I believe in them and remain hopeful.

So "Happy Birthday" for Bill and best wishes to all.
