Hi Susan: I am still alive. Just old! At the present, kind of out of partners for chastity play so haven't been doing much. Getting old is hell but still beats the alternative I think. Will be visiting one of your Colonies (NZ) in a couple of months so have kind of been concentrating on that rather than lifestyle stuff. Making that trip with a Vanilla. Later this year, I may relocate back to the midwest US where I do have a partner (or even partners) that I can play with. Haven't decided for sure and it may depend to some extent on the economic situation here in the US. You always seem to have something interesting going on but have been quiet as of late. Hope all is well with you. Being an engineer and a tinkerer myself, I am always fascinated by a female who is into making mechanical things and those being chastity devices makes it even more interesting. Keep up the good work. | ||

Thanks Eugene. But I am Danish, not English. I'm not doing much in the chastity field myself; my only experiment in progress right now is with the Birdlocked Silicone device. Even the arrival of a Myford lathe in my workshop has failed to inspire me to make new CBs; a dreadful state of affairs. I hope your trip to NZ goes well. Thanks for responding so promptly. I think that people DO in fact burn out with all the "freedom" of expression brought about by the web. In initial reaction is intensity and experimentation which is followed by boredom or more edge play and the boredom. Humans need a new stimuli or they they lose interest. This leads us to explore but at some point the exploration gets out of hand and can destroy us like any addiction. There's always new people getting on to the merry go round so it won't disappear, but people do get off and move on to other pursuits which have more import than "sex". in their lives. | ||

Susan, Sorry, I just always assumed you were in the UK because of your contact with Richard, etc. For us here in the USA we forget how easily one can go from country to country in Europe. I can get to Mexico from where I live in a little over an hour but that is it. Anything other than that would be multiple days drive or an airplane flight. Do hope you get back into the chastity research. Your posts are always interesting and informative. I have assumed my chastity play is over and have thought about trying to sell the female neosteel belt I have but then one never knows when a new opportunity might come along. | ||

Ah! Now I understand! I really do not expect to find someone for the Neosteel. I will either keep it as a curosity (BDSM club members love to look at such devices) or sell it. If I find a new partner, I will definitely buy a new belt for them and it will likely be a Tollyboy. There are a lot of things I like about his belts although there seem to be several other good suppliers around now. | ||

Not many newbies are joining this place, probably due to lack of administration support with creating new accounts, or outdated nonstandard (non bbcode) software, or some reason or other. And there are other places specializing in niches of chastity play (female chastity - chastitybelt.me; femdom chastity - locknkeep, femdomchastity; cuckolding; gay chastity, etc) | ||

I'm still around although currently not locked... the belt is in for repair. I agree with the points that both Dark and Alphax bring up. While this topic has come up before, I think other options are drawing newbies away. To show some numbers about LMU, there are 1403 registered users, of whom 495 are displayed in the User List. The List shows the last time each user logged in. Going by year, the numbers for each year are: 2002-18; 2003-50; 2004-67; 2005-54; 2006-63; 2007-116; 2008-65; and 2009-40. Of course, you don't have to sign in to read, so perhaps there still are members who sign on but don't log in. So, far this year only 40 members have actually signed in. I think in other Forums, the interest is driven by the newbies who are just learning about chastity. On LMU the population is more mature in the experience... been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Hopefully we can weather this dry spell and revisit our knowledge base. PS- I actually have a T-shirt with "LOCKED IN STEEL" embroidered in white on the front and just above on an angle "I am" in red. | ||
