From the cb mailing list, which was probably reposted from Usenet. And it was too good to just sit in my inbox :-) The paragraph formatting is my own. -------------------------------------------- A Unique Chastity Device(From the 1930s, possibly earlier) Recently, I have been going through some of my older literature on CBs and CDs --- disposing of a lot of historical material, as there is no one I know who might be interested in it, no one to pass it on to... I came across a photocopy of a short article (along with some attached drawings I made several decades ago). The article appeared in a British "rubberist digest," which consisted almost exclusively of "Letters to the Editor" that had appeared in earlier issues of that particular publication. It described a unique, one--of--a--kind CD, which had been imposed on a lad, by his aunts(?!), with whom he resided, to "cure" him of the "nasty habit" of masturbation. The device was constructed of Sterling Silver, and it had been made and fitted to the young gentleman by a local silversmith. At first, when I reread the article, I thought it might interest those members of the Chastity Community, who, for one reason or another, have an aversion to piercing; but, alas, yes, correct application of the device required that the wearer be pierced, probably a PA, although a frenum piercing would probably also work. So, yes, a piercing IS required! First, a small "cage" consisting of two soldered silver rings, joined by three or four soldered "struts," probably in the range of one to one and one--half inches in length, was constructed. The smallest ring was sized so as to fit "snugly" in the sulcus just behind the glans of a flaccid penis; and the larger ring, which "sat" further back on the penile shaft may have been one--eighth to one--quarter of an inch larger in diameter. Evidently, the lad had been pierced (by whom?), and a large Sterling silver ring had been inserted into his PA piercing. We must ASSUME that the lad had been circumsized, as well. Although the article did NOT state that the PA ring had been SOLDERED shut, I think the way the article was written, it may have ALLUDED to that process. This, I consider to be highly unlikely, as silver is a very good conductor of heat; and the soldering process would have literally "fried" the young lad s glans. The pain would have been unbearable! I propose, rather, that the PA ring had been riveted together with one or two fine, Sterling silver rivets. My supposition is based on the "rest of the story." The lad's penis and testicles were enclosed in a hollow, Sterling silver ball, which, quite evidently hinged, opened like a "clam shell." The shiny, silver sphere was about the size of a "cricketball," and it confined his genitals tightly. The ball--like device locked together, but the nature of the lock was not described. Again, I assume that the lock had been made by the silversmith, and that it was an integral part of the "knob." My sketch of the device, made around three decades ago, however, was based on the assumption that the device was attached to a CBX000--like "A--Ring," which snugly encircled penis and testicles and locked below the Sterling silver ball with a simple padlock. Perforations in the ball permitted urine to drain freely; and the lad's hands were secured behind his back twice weekly, so his aunts could wash and otherwise care for his genitals (including "shearing"?). The fellow wore the device through school, and he received the teasing name "knob" from his fellow classmates, who knew of his plight. I would, thus, imagine that most of the girls knew about it, too... Later, he went to college, still wearing the device; and probably still continued to live with his aunts, who continued their caring ministrations to the young man's genitals. I imagine that the ball--like enclosure was enlarged once or twice, in the interim. After college, the young man courted and married a young girl, who was informed of the young man's imposed chastity. She received the KEY from the aunts, and on their wedding night, she opened her "prize." Before the customary intercourse could be consummated, the PA ring had to be "filed through" and the Sterling silver "cage" removed... The writer stated that the silver ball now rested on their mantelpiece... At first, I was sure that this article was a work of fiction, due to the omission of some specific details, and due to some parts of the "story" which seemed to be too "pat." However, rereading the "story" many times, convinced me that it had been written by an "older gentlemen," who was probably at least my current age or older, at the time; who may have lost his mate; and who had, indeed, been raised by two aunts, who, themselves, had been raised in a strict Victorian atmosphere. My assumption is that it may have been written in the 1960s, and it described events that took place before WWI. Although I have stated earlier that the description of the Franey Cage was the first CD I had encountered, based on this discovery from my files, I was definitely wrong. I wonder if anyone has ever seen such a device on the market. The closest CD that comes to mind are the so called "pod" CDs, which look to be totally ineffective. The device described in the article evidently relied on compression (tight enclosure of the total genital package) and pain (from the Sterling silver "cage") as the means of curtailing tumescence. I imagine that wearing such a device for so many years (probably eight to ten), 24/7/365, would have "taught" the "lad" through "feedback" to keep his "lustful thoughts" under "tight control." I would be very interested to receive a scan of this article, and of any other material relating to "real" devices, (I am not interested in purely fantasy devices). If you could scan and email it to me I would be most grateful. Mary C |
