Honor, Copyrights and the Webmaster
Updated 8-19-98
A recent email note from a fellow Chastity Belt enthusiast really struck a chord within me. The issue in the email was essentially that an Honorable Webmaster asks permission before using someone else's content on their site.
Well let me set the record straight by saying that this is not my intention here. My intention is simply to provide a resource, a place where people the world over can learn about Chastity Belts in the world as they exist today. This is not a money making endeavor for me, but instead it is a hobby. An expensive hobby at that. I spend at least $50 per month to provide this free service to the world at large. I gain no income from doing this. My only gain is that occasionally people send me new information, pictures, or other tidbits that add to my knowledge.
Sometimes though, these tidbits are "borrowed" from other sites. I respect the fact that people work hard to create their sites. I do too. I have spent at least 2 years working on my site, collecting information, updating, uploading, and maintaining my web server. It isn't easy, and I have a lot of respect for the folks who do it.
Having said that, I work two jobs. I don't have the time to research every piece of information I am sent to see if in fact it is borrowed from another source. If I discover later that it is, then I will gladly credit the source if they wish. I in no way wish to claim there work for my own.
If I find something myself I wish to use, I ALWAYS ask first. Ask Paul at Access Denied who has allowed me to use his content on my site. Also ask Tammad Rimilla, who did not allow me to use his content. Do you see his stories or images here? I don't think so.
So what's the point of all this? First, I did not intend to steal anyone elses work. Second, I try my best to ask permission when using anyone's content. Finally, that I hope that what I am doing is usefull.
Thanks - The Webmaster
